Where is my order/How to track a package?
Orders ship within 1-2 business days after you place the order. Please allow another 3-7 business days for FedEx Ground shipping. Feel free to contact us via email
info@rickspicksnyc.com or phone 212-358-0428 to receive tracking information. We want to make sure you receive your pickles!
Can FedEx leave the package without a signature?
It is always up to the discretion of the driver, but you can add a note to the package that requests FedEx to leave the package on the first attempt with no signature. If your driver usually leaves your packages without a signature, chances are that he or she will probably leave your package. If your driver usually requires a signature, he or she will probably require a signature with this package as well. Another option is Saturday delivery, which is $25.00 over the cost of ground shipping.
Where are the pickles made?
We make the pickles in the Hudson Valley of NY and in Lancaster County, PA. Rick’s Picks is headquartered in the historic pickle district of the Lower East Side in Manhattan. We share the neighborhood with gastronomic temples such as Katz’s Deli, Russ and Daughters and Yonah Schimmel’s.
How are the pickles made?
The old-fashioned way. We make our pickles in the style of home-canning using only locally grown produce. We work with many of the farmers at the Greenmarket to source the freshest vegetables around, and create vinegar-based brines using premium, non-irridated spices. They are made in small batches with Rick himself overseeing production.
What is the shelf life of your products?
Our pickles are best eaten within 1 year of purchase. Store them unopened in a cool, dry place; it’s best to chill them in the fridge before eating them. Once opened, they will last in the fridge for 6 months. We encourage you to use up the brine after you’re done with the pickles. Click here for serving suggestions.
Why do your pickles cost more?
We use the finest ingredients and the highest quality produce to make our artisanal pickles. Our vegetables come from local farmers who use traditional farming methods to yield fresher, better tasting produce. Our pickles are all natural, and we do not use any preservatives. Also, in order to maintain high quality standards, we carefully monitor a trained staff who individually hand-pack each jar. It is a time-consuming process.
What does “local” mean?
Local means that the produce, manufacturing and final selling location occur within a 250 mile radius of NYC. Therefore, our pickles are considered “local” in the Northeast.
Do your products have any artificial ingredients or flavors?
No, we use all natural ingredients, and always will!
Do you use any organic ingredients?
We use some organic ingredients such as organic raisins. We use locally grown produce that is not organic. We are working towards using locally grown organic produce in the next two or three years.
What allergens are contained in your products?
We produce our pickles in a facility that processes nuts, dairy, eggs, and wheat.
